You already know what you want. Let's get you to say it out loud, and then go after it.

1:1 coaching for women navigating career growth, confidence, motivation and life's bigger transitions.

Aliza Rizvi, ICF-certified life coach

How I coach

I don't hand you a plan. I ask the questions that help you find your own answers — and then I hold you to them with warmth and honesty. Coaching with me is practical, kind, and built around your real life: the job, the family, the doubts, the ambitions you haven't told anyone about yet.

How I can help

Most of the women I work with come to me with one of these four things on their mind.

Career confidence

Asking for the promotion, leading a team without second-guessing every call, speaking up in the room where decisions get made.

Life transitions

Returning after maternity leave, a career change, a divorce, a move, an empty nest — any moment where the old map stops working.

Self-worth

Quieting the inner critic, setting boundaries without guilt, and stopping the habit of shrinking to make others comfortable.

Motivation

Getting unstuck when you know what to do but can't seem to start, and building momentum that lasts past the first good week.

Why I coach

I became a coach because I spent years being the person who had it together on the outside and had no idea what she actually wanted on the inside.

By day, I'm a leader in Public Sector. I run teams, sit in rooms where careers are decided, and see first-hand how often talented women talk themselves out of the roles they are more than ready for. I have done it myself. The gap between capability and confidence is rarely about skill. It is about the story you tell yourself when nobody is watching.

I'm also a mum. Becoming one rearranged my identity in ways no promotion ever did. I know what it is to feel torn between two versions of yourself, to wonder whether ambition and presence can coexist, and to rebuild your confidence from a different foundation than the one you had before. That experience sits underneath everything I do around life balance, transitions and self-worth.

I trained as a coach through an ICF-accredited programme because I wanted a discipline, not just good intentions. ICF coaching is built on a code of ethics, a set of core competencies, and a clear principle: you are the expert on your life. My job is to ask better questions than you are currently asking yourself, and to make sure you follow through on the answers.

How I work

Sessions are structured but never scripted. We start with what matters most to you this week, connect it to what you want over the next year, and leave each session with something concrete you have chosen to do. I will be warm with you, and I will also be honest — you are not paying me to agree with you.

What I believe

You are not behind

Whatever timeline you are measuring yourself against was made up by someone else.

Honesty is a form of care

I will tell you what I notice. Gently, but I will tell you.

Real life counts

Coaching that ignores your kids, your boss and your bank balance is just daydreaming.

Small and consistent beats big and occasional

Confidence is built the same way a habit is: one kept promise at a time.

1:1 coaching

One client, one coach, one conversation at a time. I work exclusively one-to-one, because the questions that change things are the ones asked of you specifically.

What a session looks like

We meet for 60 minutes. You bring whatever is most alive for you — a decision, a pattern you keep repeating, a goal you have stalled on. I listen closely, reflect back what I hear, and ask questions that get underneath the surface answer. We finish by agreeing what you will do before we meet again. Between sessions you have email access to me for quick check-ins.

Virtual

Video sessions from wherever you are, so coaching fits around work and family.

Who I work with

Every engagement is tailored. These are the four situations I coach on most often.

Career growth

For women ready for the next role, the bigger remit, or a different direction entirely.

You are good at your job and you know it — most days. But you hesitate before the ask, over-prepare for the meeting, or have quietly decided the next step is for someone louder. We work on clarity about what you want, the confidence to pursue it visibly, and how to lead in a way that is yours rather than borrowed.

  • Preparing for promotion, negotiation or a new leadership role
  • Navigating office politics without losing yourself
  • Deciding whether to stay, move, or change paths

Confidence and self-worth

For women whose inner critic is running the show.

Imposter feelings, perfectionism, difficulty saying no, a habit of making yourself smaller in rooms you have earned your place in. We look at where these patterns come from, what they cost you, and how to build a steadier sense of your own value that does not depend on the last piece of feedback you received.

  • Quieting the inner critic and perfectionism
  • Setting boundaries at work and at home
  • Speaking up, being seen, and owning your wins

Motivation and momentum

For women who know what to do and cannot seem to start.

Stuck is not lazy. Usually it means the goal is unclear, the stakes feel too high, or the plan is designed for a life you do not actually have. We find the real reason, break the work into steps you will genuinely do, and build accountability that feels supportive rather than punishing.

  • Getting unstuck on a goal you have been circling
  • Building habits that survive a bad week
  • Reconnecting with what you actually want, not what you think you should want

Life transitions

For women in the middle of a before-and-after.

Returning from maternity leave. Divorce. Redundancy. A move, a loss, a milestone birthday, children leaving home. Transitions unsettle identity as much as logistics. We make space for what is changing, work out who you are becoming, and decide what you want the next chapter to look like — on purpose, not by default.

  • Returning to work and rebuilding confidence after leave
  • Balancing motherhood, career and your own identity
  • Rebuilding after a major change or loss

Questions people ask before booking

How much does coaching cost?

Reach out and I'll share options tailored to you. I don't publish a rate card because the right length and format depends on what you're working on.

Do you offer group sessions or programmes?

Right now I focus exclusively on 1:1 coaching for personalised attention and results.

What happens on the discovery call?

We talk for about 30 minutes about where you are, what you'd like to change, and whether we're a good fit. There's no obligation to continue and no sales pitch.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Therapy often works with the past and with healing; coaching works with the present and future — goals, decisions, action. If I think therapy would serve you better, I'll say so.

How long do people usually work with you?

Most clients work with me for three to six months, meeting every two weeks. Some continue on a lighter rhythm afterwards.

Is everything we discuss confidential?

Yes. I follow the ICF Code of Ethics, which includes strict confidentiality except where the law requires otherwise.
